9 Ways To Keep Safe This Christmas Season

Look after yourselves ladies!

Her

This Christmas season we are all about looking after yourself over the holidays. Be it after nights out, or out and about on the winter roads we have some top tips for you to make sure you look after yourself and your loved ones this festive season.

Here are our top tips…

There’s nothing like a plan

Taxis are often next to impossible to get after a night out, you can be left standing in the rain and cold for hours – but instead of this, why not plan ahead? Book a reliable taxi company to meet you after your night out at a pre-organized spot in town – winning.

Safety in numbers

If the taxi company won’t take your booking, remember there’s safety in numbers. So stick with your girls at the end of the night, share a taxi home together or stay in each other’s houses. Don’t go off on your own.

Plug in

While you are getting ready for your night out, stick your phone on the charger as you do. There’s nothing worse at the end of a night than getting separated from your besties and having no way of ringing them because your phone is dead. Epic fail.

Extra Cash

Keep extra cash hidden inside your bag somewhere. We all think that we will leave ourselves money for the end-of-the-night taxi, but that bag of chips was just too tempting. Hidden cash in your bag means you will always have the money to get home.

Look after each other

We can’t stress it enough ladies, but sticking together is a must. Not only that, but make sure you check in on all the gals once you are home to make sure they’ve got home too. It’s a quick whats app but it will ease your worry once they reply and vice versa.

Out and about

Winter is here and that only means one thing – it gets dark really early. Often, walking out and about in the dark is unavoidable but if you have to do it make sure you use your common sense. Avoid badly-lit pathways and isolated lanes. Stick to the main streets and roads where there are people and cars.

Keep focused

There’s a lot to be said for bopping along to a bit of music on your walk home to make the time pass quicker, but this can actually distract you from what’s happening all around you.

Be observant

Tying in with our last point of not being distracted, being observant is key. Taking note of taxi colours, plate numbers is extremely important – not just for your own safety, but also in the event that you leave something behind you – and you should make it a habit with every taxi you get into. As we said before, sticking together is key, while observing what is going on around you is necessary.

Push the button

Carrying an alarm with you regardless of where you are going or what you are doing is plain common sense. It might sound a bit OTT, but it is a brilliant and affordable way to keep yourself say. Most chemists and shops stock alarms that are small and neat like keyrings, so fit neatly into your bag.
