There are some presents only an Irish person will buy you at Christmas.
Be it a tin of USA biscuits to a box of Tayto, where would you be without the typical Irish gift?
Here are some of our favourites…

A scratch card
There’s nothing better than opening a Christmas card to have a scratch card (or indeed two!) fall out into your lap. Winning two euro on it just makes your whole day better.
A Penneys Voucher
Every Irish person understands the legend that is Penneys. The best Irish person will be the one that gifts you a Penneys voucher for Christmas. Eternally in our good books.
Nothing like a bit of Genesis
Most Irish homes have some Genesis in their house and Christmas usually brings another piece. The beautiful Irish-made presents are always one that will put a big smile on our face!
A lovely knitted geansaí
Ah aren’t grannies just brilliant? Most of them will gift you with a lovely, cozy knitted geansaí for Christmas. The sweet part is wearing it for the day as she’s over having dinner with you.. the hard part is remembering to put it on for every visit she makes for the next six months!
Brutally honest
Irish people are known for being… well let’s just say a bit honest. There’s always someone (usually a family member) who will buy you a top that’s a size bigger than you actually wear. Sound lads.
Ah go on!
We will never, ever, ever tire of Fr Ted. Ever. Irish people understand the love for the hit TV programme and anything to do with the popular show is one of the best presents ever.
Sweet tooth
As we all know the Irish have a bit of a sweet tooth. You are more than likely going to get either a tin of Roses of Quality Street or a box of USA biscuits this year. Couple this with some homemade plum pudding or Christmas cake courtesy of other family members or your neighbours.
Ask not what your county can do for you…
GAA jerseys are also a big hit at Christmas. Whether it be the funky pink ones or the regular county colours, the Irish like to see you wear your colours with pride.
