How many of these have you stayed in?
18 hotels in Ireland have been ranked amongst the 2,500 best hotels in the world, according to reviews by users of hotels.com, one of the biggest online accommodation booking websites in the world.
2,500 hotels across 87 countries were recognised as truly outstanding in the Hotels.com Loved by Guests Gold Awards, all of which were required to achieve an average guest review rating of 4.7 out of 5 or higher.
Travel experts analysed millions of guest reviews to compile the substantial list; Hotels.com has over 25 million trusted, genuine guest reviews on its website and says that it is seeing a shift in reviews becoming a more powerful influence than official star ratings, especially as these can be read instantly on travellers’ smartphones on the go.
In total, 18 hotels in Ireland were recognised, including 14 winners of the Gold Awards and four that were identified in particular categories, specifically spa, boutique and luxury hotels (see list in full below).
The United States had by far the greatest representation of hotels on the list with 969 in total, followed by the United Kingdom (171), Italy (153), Canada (86) and Spain (70).
