12 Things You Always Hear Or Say on Christmas Day

Like the Christmas tree and the turkey dinner, there are some words and phrases that are uttered every year without fail. These are just a few of our personal favourites… 1. Merry Christmas When you get up. When you see someone (make that anyone). When you arrive. When you give presents. When you get presents. When you leave. When you go to bed. 2. What did you get? Yea, people are nosy curious on Christmas Day. 3. You don’t have it already do you? Like anyone is going to say yes. 4. How did you know I wanted this? You only hinted a hundred million times and said “that’s lovely” every time we went past it in the shop. 5. You can always get it changed Ah, the old faithful, the gift receipt. 6. I love it It doesn’t matter if you’re the giver or the receiver (that was meant completely innocently) it’s the line you desperately want to hear/say on Christmas Day. 7. Just open it! But it’s so nicely wrapped! 8. When’s dinner ready? Five minutes sooner than the last time you asked. 9. Do you want to pull a cracker? Like anyone is going to say no. 10. I’m so full Probably shouldn’t have had that second helping of turkey, potatoes, stuffing and Christmas pudding… too late now! 11. We can’t forget to watch that Be it the soaps, the Christmas special of Downton Abbey or Home Alone, there’s always something that has to be watched or recorded. 12.
