109-Year-Old Woman Reveals Secret To A Long Life

It's NOT what we expected!

Cathy Donohue

Jessie Gallan, the oldest woman in Scotland, has a very interesting theory on the secret to living a long life.

The 109-year-old believes that staying away from men and eating a bowl of porridge every day is the key to living longer.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, she said: “My secret to a long life has been staying away from men. They’re just more trouble than they’re worth”.

“I also made sure that I got plenty of exercise, eat a nice warm bowl of porridge every morning and have never gotten married.

“I always worked hard and seldom would I ever take a holiday. I left home when I was 13 and began a job milking cows” continued Jessie.

Jessie is from a family of seven children and was born in a two-room farm cottage, leaving at 13 to become a milkmaid.

She worked in a hotel for most of her life and now lives in a care home in Aberdeen.

She turned 109 on January 2nd and has many friends among the other residents and staff at the Crosby House care home.

Last weekend, Frenchman Philippe Vocanson passed away at the age of 110. Although he never smoke or drank, he had a great love for both chocolate and cheese.

Time to stock up on some of our favourite foods so, it shouldn’t be too hard!
