There’s nothing that puts a spring in your step more than a new pair of shoes. Be it those super expensive designer shoes you’ve had your eye on for a few years now, or simply the perfect match to that dress in the wardrobe, they really are the ultimate treat.
Festival tickets
Summer just wouldn’t be the same without heading off to a gig somewhere, tent in hand and rain jacket and wellies in tow. One of life’s simple pleasures – and it’ll make you feel like you’ve been off on holiday for a while (even if you do need a holiday to recover from it!).
Here come the girls!
A night on the town with the girls is a must to keep you feeling chirpy, and is something we wouldn’t give up for all of the things in the world. From busting some moves on a dancefloor at twilight to curry chips at dawn, there’s nothing quite like it.
As much chocolate as you can eat
One of life’s simplest luxuries has to be chocolate. Whether you like it with tea, or simply a whole (family size) bar to yourself as you catch up with Friday Night Lights, it’s well and truly one of life’s greatest pleasures.

A great TV show is definitely one of the luxuries that is really a necessity. From Orange is the New Black to Breaking Bad, what else would you be at on a Friday night? A trip to the cinema for some popcorn and chocolate – mixed together, naturally – is also a winner in our eyes.
A daily dose of great coffee
Starting the day with our favourite brew or caffeine hit of choice is always a good thing. This is especially important when we’re in need of a ‘pick me up’ on Monday mornings.
Getting away for a few days
Whether you’re headed home to see the folks or visiting friends in a new city, escaping the norm for a few days will leave you refreshed and ready for whatever life is going to throw at you.
A yummy meal out
Or even a takeaway – basically anything you don’t have to cook yourself. If you’re heading out for a bite to eat, throw on the glad rags – and those new heels – and don’t skip on dessert. When you’re out, you’re out, right?
A pampering session
There’s no better pick me up in the world than a good old-fashioned pampering session. Get out the face masks, the deep conditioner and the many bottles of nail varnish and prepare to indulge. Some scented candles and maybe a spree on some really nice body lotion is also a must.
A good book
We get no greater pleasure than snuggling up on the couch with a good book, be it one of the old classics or the latest bestseller. Day made.
