Here are 10 things you don't want to hear first thing in the morning... 1. Your alarm/ an alarm/ all alarms The first is a necessary evil. The second usually means you have to get up and turn something off or change the batteries. The last means you have to wait until someone else gets up and turns something off or changes the batteries. 2. “There’s no milk” Why do bad things happen to good people? 3. Birds Sure their chirping sounds lovely and melodic when you can have a lie-in. When they wake you up an hour before your alarm, not so much. 4. The 9 o’clock news You’re late. Very late. 5. “Did you not sleep well?” The only thing worse than a bad night’s sleep is someone basically saying that you look like crap after that bad night’s sleep. 6. A voice you don't recognise beside you Oh no. 7. “You’ve got something on your shirt” It took us ages picking out this outfit and now we have to change it? Great. Stupid toothpaste! 8. The rain Hello wet feet and messy hair. (And that's even with an umbrella!) 9. “Call into my office” Brace yourself. 10. Your phone ringing Again, brace yourself.
