Okay, who wants to go on an adventure?

Fed up with the Irish weather? The lack of excitement? Your job? Then it just might be time to pack up your things and head off on a little trip.

We can all get itchy feet every now and then but how do you know when it’s time to do something drastic and go travelling around the world?

Here are the ten signs that you need to quit everything and go travelling.

Your 9-5 has become really boring

Rea-lly boring. You’ve started to dread Monday mornings and spend the entire week counting down to the weekend. But that’s normal, right?

You spend your lunch break looking up cheap flights on Skyscanner

And you’ve even set up alerts for a few different destinations. You’re always tempted to take the plunge and just book it…but you never have…yet.

Your phone wallpaper is an inspirational travel quote

Oh you know the ones…

Your coworkers are grinding your gears

Oh my God! Will they just get out of your face already? You’re craving the laid back attitude of your fellow travellers and desperately need to get away from the highly strung office crowd.

You miss the spontaneity of not having a routine

You long for the days when you would wake up whenever you felt like it and spend the entire day exploring somewhere new. No schedules, no deadlines, no plans, just going with the flow.

You get jealous of your friend’s travel posts

Nope, just nope. When one of you friends goes travelling you seriously consider unfriending her on Facebook so you don’t have to see another envy-inducing picture of her hiking in Yosemite.

You think of money in terms of the flights you could buy with it

You’re baffled when people spend hundreds of euros on a new handbag or pair of designer shoes. Do they know they could buy a flight to Thailand for that much money?

You sometimes think about just packing it all in and going to the airport during your commute

Ever been on a bus to work and thought to yourself if I head straight to the airport I could be on a flight within an hour? No? Me neither! (cough, cough).

All your TBT’s are five years old

You find yourself Instagramming old holiday snaps because you haven’t done anything interesting in the past few months. It’s okay though because you can live vicariously through your old photos…at least for a little while longer…

You’re reading this instead of doing work

Busted! You’re totally skiving off work or procrastinating doing that massive pile of laundry just so you can read this article. If you’re looking for a sign to go travelling…this is it.
