10 Life Lessons You Should Learn from Ron Swanson

Five years ago Parks and Recreation appeared on our screens for the first time, and with it came Ron Swanson. The hard-drinking, woodworking, sax-playing government official has since found a permanent place in our hearts, even though that's the kind of thing he'd absolutely hate.  Over the years, we've learned a lot from the man behind that magnificent moustache. It's time you did too.  ___________________________________________ 1) Sometimes it's ok to cry.  But those occasions are few and far between. "Crying: acceptable at funerals and the Grand Canyon."   2) It's important to take some time out Do whatever works for you.   3) Who gives a f**k? Say it however you like, there is only one really nasty word. "There is only one bad word: taxes."   4) Know where you stand And don't be afraid to speak up.   5) Cowboys Ted, they're a bunch of cowboys  Never trust a contractor. "I don’t want to paint with a broad brush here, but every single contractor in the world is a miserable, incompetent thief."   6) Let your talents shine And do what makes you happy.   7) Know your place Especially in relation to the Circle of Life   8) People are the worst But food? Food is good.   9) Quality over quantity.  This applies where people are concerned too. "Friends: one to three is sufficient."   10) And finally, take everything one step at a time... Always give the task at hand your all.
