The festive season is now well and truly behind us, and Her.ie girls Amy and Patricia are powering ahead in terms of their weightloss challenge with Weight Watchers.
This week the girls are celebrating achievements, looking towards their final goal and continuing to count those all-important ProPoints.
Twice a week, Amy and Patricia will be giving an in depth look at what it’s really like to live life while following the Weight Watchers plan. To keep up with the girls’ journey, make sure you check out their previous diary entry by clicking here.

What can I say? Sometimes keeping things simple is the best way to move forward and that’s exactly how I feel about my weigh-in this week. I lost 3.5lbs this week which means that I’m now, officially, a stone lighter. It also means that it won’t be long until I reach my goal weight (something which I am SO excited about, let me tell you!).
In my last entry I spoke about how I was struggling a little with the ProPoints plan since Christmas. I said that I was keeping things simple and my loss this week will show you that simplicity really does pay off.
The main changes I made this week were with regards to tracking: I tracked absolutely everything I ate. I drank more water (I’ve been keeping a bottle by my computer in work so I’ll swig on it every now and then). Finally, I moved a little bit more than I normally would. I went for a few walks, I took the stairs, I made really simple changes to my everyday life and they paid off.
I find it hard to believe that I only started the Weight Watchers plan eight weeks ago and already I’m a whole stone lighter than I was. Getting handed my little ‘stone’ by Mary in my meeting really just made my week.
I’m also at that point in my journey where people are starting to notice the fact that I’ve lost a bit of weight. The compliments are flying around the place and I can honestly say that I feel much better in myself. I feel better, I have more energy, I’m sleeping better and I’m eating good, healthy food (oh and still getting my little treats in here and there!).
The Weight Watchers plan works. It’s as simple as that. If you follow the plan, keep eating your ProPoints and make activity a priority you WILL lose the weight. Fact. It’s happening for me right now.
Reaching the milestone of losing a stone has, yet again, motivated me to stay on track and continue to see the numbers getting lower and lower every time I step on the scales.
There are four weeks of the Weight Watchers challenge left and I’m really hoping that I can reach my goal weight and get my hands on a gold membership card before the end. Full steam ahead!

Starting Weight: 14 stone 11lbs
Current weight: 14 stone 2.5lbs
It’s difficult to get back into the swing of things post Christmas but I made sure to focus on my tracking this week and I am down another pound and a half. I made sure to keep my tracker in my handbag throughout the week and it really paid off especially when it came to warding off the festive habits and getting back on track with the ProPoints programme.
At the same time, I have really made an effort to introduce as much variety as I can into my diet to stop myself becoming bored. I’ve filled my fridge to the brim with healthy ingredients as well as a few low ProPoints treats so that I am prepared for any craving that is thrown at me.
However, you can’t always be prepared and I made the mistake of boarding a long train journey with an empty stomach. When the cart came along I was so tempted to get a bar of chocolate and a packet of crisps but instead I chose a banana and a cup of tea and it warded of my hunger until I arrived. When you are religiously tracking, having to put those ProPoints onto the tracker really makes you think twice about the foods you are eating and indulging in.
This new year I have made a resolution to be more active because I really feel that this is my main problem. Although I have been walking I really want to find something new to get my blood pumping and earn those Activity ProPoints so I have agreed to go to the gym with a friend and keep my eyes open for a fun fitness class that would suit me. Any ideas?
In the meantime, I am going to keep with the tracking. It really has made the difference this week and I hope it continues to show on the scales!
