After twelve weeks, Her.ie girls Amy and Patricia have finished their Weight Watchers challenge. The final weigh-in has taken place and the girls are thrilled with everything they’ve managed to achieve in such a short space of time.
In this entry, the girls are talking about keeping up the plan, being consistent with their efforts and feeling optimistic about the future.
For the past few weeks, Amy and Patricia have been giving us an in depth look at what it’s really like to live life while following the Weight Watchers plan. If you missed the girls’ last entry, check it out by clicking here.

I genuinely can’t believe that this is my last Weight Watchers diary entry. It really doesn’t feel like it’s been three months since I attended my first meeting (and had a mini-heartattack as I stepped onto the scales for the first time).
Given the fiendish weekend that I had, I was absolutely thrilled to see that I stayed the same on the scales this week. I guess it’s safe to say that my trips to the gym are really starting to pay off because honestly? I should have been up at least half a stone given what I ate and drank in Galway.
There have been so many things that I’ve achieved over the past three months and I’m really proud of myself for sticking to the plan and attending every single meeting (even on the weeks when I gained weight).
I definitely feel as though Weight Watchers has set me on a permanent (positive) lifestyle change and I’m fully dedicated to continuing on with my classes and my weekly weigh-ins. I’ve found a class closer to my home that I’ll be able to fit in around work and I’m so motivated to keep my weight-loss going until I get my hands on my gold card.
Starting this challenge, I never envisioned that I’d become the type of person who loves cooking healthy meals from scratch, hitting up the gym for some exercise or actively turning down endless offers of chocolate in the Her.ie office.
The habits that you learn in Weight Watchers really are priceless and are so simple, you know that you’ll keep them with you for the rest of your life.
Looking forward, I know that I’ll reach my goal and for the first time in a long time I’m feeling more comfortable and more confident in my own skin.
I’d like to extend a huge, massive thank you to Mary O’Donoghue, my class leader, who offered me encouragement, inspiration and some words of wisdom at every single class. Oh and for her kindness and her humour on the weeks when things didn’t exactly go to plan.
I’d also like to thank Weight Watchers Ireland for giving me the opportunity to kick start my new, healthier lifestyle.
I can’t stress how great my experience with Weight Watchers has been and while I won’t be writing about my weigh-ins publically anymore, rest aside I’ll still be facing the Weight Watchers scale every week well into the future!

It's our last Weight Watchers diary and I am very excited to have nearly shed a stone during this programme. This week I was down another pound and although my weight loss has been slow it has been consistent which I am proud of.
With Christmas in the middle of this twelve week ProPoints programme it was most definitely a challenge but one I am certainly glad to have done. Although I have lost weight with Weight Watchers in the past I have always abandoned the classes and drifted back to my old habits but this time I am motivated to continue making this change and I am looking forward to a summer where I am less self-conscious about my body.
This week I’ve been trying to focus my attention on leaner meats and introduce more fish into my diet. There is a great selection of fresh Irish fish in Lidl and I have been trying many Weight Watchers recipes that I have never made before, most of them really satisfying. I’ve also tried to make the change to green tea because I don’t like using up ProPoints in something as simple as my cup of tea but it isn’t such an easy change.
My Weight Watchers motivation since January has been Valentine’s Day, not because I am particularly romantic but because I set myself a goal to reach and I hope to be there by this time next week. I think the best way to approach this programme is the little goals because the overall goal can sometimes seem hard to reach. In the beginning I was disappointed by a half a pound weight loss but now I think as long as you continue to go in the right direction it’s always a positive.
