We have a lot of love for Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch and Idris Elba, even more so now they have joined the campaign for Stand Up To Cancer.

The short film featurethem running towards the camera at high speed in a bid to to demonstrate the need to accelerate new cancer treatments.

Other famous faces participating in the campaign include Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery, Gillian Anderson, Eddie Redmayne, Anna Friel, Sheridan Smith and Steve Coogan.

Idris Elba revealed that the campaign is very personal to him as his father passed away from lung cancer last year.

Luther star Idris said: “It affected the whole family, turned our lives upside down and is truly something that we absolutely need to stop in the future.

“What we need to do this is funding, and that’s why it’s so important for people to do what they can to support Stand Up To Cancer and help beat cancer sooner”.

As part of the campaign, a live fundraiser for Stand Up To Cancer will be broadcast on Channel 4 on Friday, October 17.
