Gym kit – the phrase immediately conjures up images of a smelly old sports bag full of drab, grey clothing that could probably do with a wash.
When it comes to dressing for the gym, most of us tend to put very little thought into our kit. We choose old clothes that we don’t mind getting covered in sweat and putting comfort over style seems like a fairly obvious choice.
We were of this mindset too until we came across brand-spanking new website GymGear.ie.
The premise of the website is simple – you can pick out an amazing new gym kit and have it delivered directly to your door. This means that you can give your gear bag a much-needed update without any hassle whatsoever.
But are the products any good? We decided to put a few pieces from GymGear.ie to the test.

Adidas Ladies DS Response T-Shirt (€24.99):

They say: Keep your mind focused on your training in this Adidas Essentials 3-Stripes t-shirt. Climalite Cotton sweeps away sweat, while 3-Stripes provide subtle style in this women’s workout t-shirt.
We say: What we loved about this t-shirt was the fact that it was light and didn’t cling when we started to work up a sweat. Made from a very ‘airy’ material it ensures that you won’t get hot and bothered when your up the ante in your workout. It looked great and best of all? No sweatmarks.
BiaBrazil Pants (€54.99):

They Say: BiaBrazil Fitness is synonymous for fashion, quality and comfort. Its opened construction, coupled with the technology of polyamide amni microfibre in combination with Lycra gives the fabric a soft touch. It allows the rapid transfer of heat and moisture from the body to the external environment though the fabric and offers UV protection to its user.
We say: We’ll be honest and say that we loved these pants! Incredibly flattering, super-comfortable and light these kept us cool during our workout and looked amazing too. They’re a slim fit but they stuck to all the right curves.
Adidas Stella McCartney Chunky Knit Shorts (€24.99):

They say: Stella McCartney Knit Shorts bring simple comfort to your running routine. Featuring side and back pockets.
We say: Stella McCartney gym gear is always a winner in our books. These shorts were comfortable and made of very soft material. While we wouldn’t use them for running, we do think they’d be perfect for a yoga or a pilates class. We loved the fact that they also had pockets (very handy!).
Adidas Ladies Ultra Pink Tank Top (€25):

They say: Get the most out of your workouts in benefitting from Climalite technology, which helps wick sweat away from the body so you can train harder, for longer.
We say: This tanktop comes with a hidden support panel in the chest area which adds some extra comfort if you’re running. We loved the colour. The light, sweat-resistant material makes this a gym kit essential.
All of the above items of clothing are available from the GymGear.ie website, which you can visit by clicking here.
