We all know the drill.
We’re in the shower, suds-ing up, when we realise we don’t have a personal razor at hand.
There is one bladed friend sitting amongst the shower gels and shampoos, so you glide it quickly under your arms and return it… hoping for the best.
Whether it’s a friend, roommate, sibling, or boyfriend, that razor moment could lead to passing on a hairy health issue.
While we all know that shaving can result in small nips or cuts, you could have a fungal fallout from sharing those bathroom blades.
Dermatologist Whitney Bowe said:
“Almost all women’s razors have a pivoting cartridge that helps make the shave easier for those curvy and hard to reach areas like the ankles and knees.
“Shaving results in tiny nicks in the skin and those openings can allow bacteria to enter and spread infection.
“Not only that, but you’re vulnerable to warts and bacterial and fungal infections, and if there’s blood on the razor from a previous cut, it could result in transmitting blood viruses.”
So for the sake of a few extra euro, maybe just leave a pack of disposables in a bathroom hiding place.
It could save you some money in plasters, creams or doctor visits.
