Why you need to try Sprezzatura – Dublin’s newest Italian with all dishes under €10

I slept soundly last night.

Predominately thanks to the combination of good food and wine that had me singing all the way home. If you haven't heard of Sprezzatura yet, get ready to become very familiar with the name. The new Italian eatery located where Grantham's Café used to sit on Grantham St, Dublin 2 is the latest food offering having opened its doors in Dublin. And the good news is unlike its counterparts it has a variety of unique selling points. Firstly, it's making strides to be sustainable. It’s virtually paperless, runs on renewable energy where possible and is completely cashless - only accepting payment via card. Secondly, all the wine and beer is on tap courtesy of Wine Lab with a variety of reds, whites and rosé on offer. Sprezzatura’s very own lager, their own take on an Aperol Spritz and a healthy non-alcoholic kefir are also available. Their design is also minimal and chic featuring drop lights, tables full of tea lights and a chalkboard full of the tasty specials for everyone to choose from.

Now, the food.

Firstly the price point is worth noting. Every dish is under €10. In fact, they're all under €9/€9.50 I believe. While the small plates averaging between €3 - €5. But cheap doesn't mean poor and Sprezzatura is proving that your dining experience doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg to receive delicious food made with quality ingredients. Last night, we tried the sourdough bread, tomato carpaccio, stracciatella and pig’s cheek fritti as well as two handmade pasta dishes - a penne with nduja and ricotta as well as a sage butter gnocchi. Sharing all the dishes, there was plenty in these portions for two and we were left scooping up the sauces on the sourdough bread and even requesting more from the helpful waiters. The winner, however, most definitely the sage butter gnocchi that I'll be returning for ASAP. Overall I'd absolutely recommend checking out this gem - central location, amazing price and tasty food that'll have you too singing en route home.
