The limited-edition orange Smarties are BACK (and it gets even better)

Nestlé have announced that they are bringing back orange Smarties - and this time, you can get them in Easter egg form. Hexatubes filled with the limited edition sweets have also hit shelves across the country once again.   The orange Smarties, released only in the UK and Ireland, are the only colour of the chocolate that have their own flavour. The chocolate shell is infused with natural oil, which leads to it having its own distinct taste - and part of the reason they were such a huge hit with fans. But this year, Nestlé are upping the ante once again - and just in time for Easter. The confectionary company have launched an orange Smarties Easter egg, which is an orange flavour milk chocolate egg - filled with orange Smarties mini eggs, naturally. They're also bringing out the orange Smarties mini eggs which are quite literally, little orange Smarties chocolate eggs. Talk about yum.

Maria McKenna, Marketing Manager Confectionary, Nestlé Ireland said:

“Orange SMARTIES are so popular that we simply had to bring them back this season. People love their distinctive flavour and they are our number one consumer request.

]"The giant tubes launched last autumn were sold out in some stores within a few weeks from the launch and we have been inundated with requests from people all over the country asking us whether they could still get hold of some.

"Orange SMARTIES are slightly more difficult to manufacture in high volume, given the different process and recipe required to get that orange-y taste but our experts have been hard at work to make it happen and we are really pleased that we can offer them again this spring.”
