Eight Irish restaurants have been honoured by the Michelin Guide

While a fresh crop of Michelin Stars are about to awarded to various restaurants, the organisation has released a list of restaurants in the UK and Ireland that have been honoured with a Michelin Bib Gourmand. A Bib is an acknowledgement of simple yet skilful cooking, combined with great prices. We're delighted to see that eight Irish restaurants have got the nod in this department. They include four in Dublin, one in Galway, one in Co Down, one in Co Clare and one in Kildare. The four in Dublin are; Bastible on Leonard's Corner, Forest and Marcy on Upper Leeson St, Craft in Harold's Cross and Richmond on South Richmond St. Elsewhere in the country, they went to Kai in Galway, Morrissey's of Doonbeg, Co Clare, Noble in Holywood, Co Down and Two Cooks in Sallin, Kildare. The following comments were given for each restaurant:

Bastible: "From greasy spoon to the hottest ticket in town." Forest and Marcy: "Cool counter dining with great modern cooking." Craft: "For fresh seasonal flavours in the southern suburbs." Richmond: "It’s obvious why this neighbourhood restaurant is always packed." Kai: "Easy-going with its ingredient-led cooking is a great fit for the city.' Morrissey's: "For the great seafood at this third generation family-owned pub." Two Cooks: "Honest, well-judged cooking from this keen couple." Noble: "Small but perfectly formed."
