As part of the Life Style Sports #GirlsRunTheWorld campaign, Michelle McMahon, Editor of Her.ie and Sue Murphy, TV&Film Editor, were challenged to run a 5k race after 12 weeks of training.
For Week 2 of the campaign, Michelle and Sue took to the beach in Sandymount again with their trainer Peter Kern from PB3 Coaching for another week of drills and stretches, including sprints.
Peter worked with both girls to extend the distance they were running, sprinting at a faster speed for a time, slowing down when it began to hurt, working on breathing for the challenge and that all-important warm-up.
Peter also worked on some stretches with them and began honing in on the technique to get this absolutely perfect. Sue and Michelle will both run through their experience in separate blogs where they will discuss where they are in terms of the running and what training they have both undergone.
Check out how they got on in this week’s video.
