“I love you,” but make it pizza.
The coronavirus lockdown has been difficult for a myriad of reasons.
You miss your mates, you miss your family, you miss doing normal things like sitting in restaurants, hugging goodbye after brunch, and having someone over for a sneaky takeaway.
Life will resume as normal at some point, but until then we’ll have to make do with what we’ve got.
And in this case, what we’ve got is pizza.
Since the pandemic began, people have been living their An Post fantasy and sending their loved ones an array of gifts and surprises to make their lockdown experience that little bit less daunting.
We’re talking flowers, we’re talking heartfelt cards, we’re talking mass amounts of food delivered straight to their door to show you care. No contact needed.
In order to get a bit more personal with their surprise deliveries, three pizza restaurants have teamed up with Deliveroo to allow customers to send some special messages to their friends and families along with their food.
After all, nothing says “I love you” like a pizza box. Nothing, alright?
From May 12 to 24, customers can add a handwritten note of up to 200 characters on a pizza box from Papa John’s (Galway and Limerick), Oak Fire Pizza (Cork) and Cirillos (Dublin).
Check the home address of your loved one on the Deliveroo app to see if they’re in the delivery zone for the participating pizza restaurants.
Once you have found the restaurant and chosen your pizza, simply add in your message in the ‘Order notes’ section on the app at check-out.
The restaurant will then add your personalised note to the box and the pizza will be delivered to your loved on.
You can get yourself one too, like. Might as well. You deserve it.
