Alright, sorry.
There are very few things that don’t go well with pasta.
Cheese, tomato, aubergine, red onion, regular onion, cream, egg, bacon, hot sauce, hotter sauce, jalapeños, crisps, bread, garlic, garlic bread – whatever you’ve got just throw it in there, it’ll taste delicious regardless.
There are some ingredients that one might have to draw the pasta-line at though.
Certain things that you generally wouldn’t throw into a big bowl of penne and expect to taste good.
One of those things is chocolate. Another one is ice cream. And another one is marmite.
And for some reason, the wonderful Nigella Lawson has decided to throw a load of the last one of those into her spaghetti.
No, we don’t quite understand why either.
She shared her damning recipe on Twitter earlier this week to the horror and disgust of many.
I’m going to come right out and say it: #RecipeOfTheDay is Marmite Spaghetti https://t.co/rFh6wFLlqG pic.twitter.com/m5wyiA52t9

The recipe is as follows:
- Cook the spaghetti.
- Melt butter and Marmite in a saucepan and mix in with cooked spaghetti.
- Serve.
That’s it, like.
That’s literally it.
Plain pasta with butter and Marmite.
Do you need somebody to talk to, Nigella? Is this a cry for help? Eat two mouthfulls of your bland pasta dish if you need us to call the police.
We’re here for you.
