If breakfast is your favourite meal of the day and you make it your business to go to quality cafés and restaurants, then you may be interested in this list of Ireland’s top spots to get the morning meal, based off customer reviews.
Using Tripadvisor reviews, Instagram followers, and Google review, Genting Casino have pulled together a list of Ireland’s top breakfast and brunch spots.
10. Blas – Donegal
Coming in at number 10 is Blas in Donegal, based within the Gateway Lodge just five minutes from Donegal Town. They do breakfast and lunch, serving all your morning-time classics as well as lemon curd pancakes and their French Toast which is made using a Viennese baguette.
A great option next time you’re in Donegal for a couple of days.
9. Esquires – Galway
Coffe franchise Esquires came in 9th place for their Galway branch, with a 4.7 Google review rating, and 438 excellent Tripadvisor reviews.
8. The Buttery – Limerick
Serving brunch for the last nine years, The Buttery are well versed in this in-between breakfast and lunch meal. Pancakes, burgers, wings – you’ll find them all at this Limerick location.
They have an impressive Instagram following of 11,000 people, as well as a 4.5 Google review score and 440 excellent Tripadvisor reviews.
7. Hannigan’s Bar – Killarney
Based within the International Hotel in Killarney, Hannigan’s bar comes in at seventh on this list.
They have 801 excellent Tripadvisor reviews and a 4.6 Google rating for their breakfast and brunch offering.
6. Liberty Grill – Cork
Cork’s Liberty Grill has a breakfast menu and a brunch menu, serving all your classic items as well as Johnnycakes (cornmeal pancakes), quinoa fritters, and black pudding hollandaise.
5. The Locke – Limerick
Limerick favourite The Locke completes the top five, thanks to its selection of traditional breakfast and pastry options.
4. Brother Hubbard (North) – Dublin, Dela Restaurant – Galway and Hook & Ladder, Sarsfield Street – Limerick
We have three restaurants in joint fourth place; Brother Hubbard (North) which has long been considered one of Dublin’s top cafés, Dela Restaurant in Galway, which boasts a huge brunch menu as well as midday cocktails, and Hook & Ladder in Limerick with their range of pastries, coffee, and breakfasts.

Open since 2017, The Spitjack has been a staple for Cork people over the last six years. Their breakfast menu is extensive, with several variations of Eggs Benedict, as well as sweet options such as waffles, pancakes, and French toast.

This well loved café in Dublin’s Temple Bar scooped up second place, with 3,146 glowing Tripadvisor reviews.
Queen of Tarts has been open for 25 years with a focus on simple and decadent desserts. Everything is baked on-site, and they use local and seasonal ingredients for their concoctions. Ideal after a day of wandering around the city, or for a catch-up with a like-minded, sweet-toothed friend.

Located near the Spanish Arch, Ard Bia at Nimmos came out on top with an overall index score of six. The popular spot, which serves locally sourced ingredients, offers a range of delicious breakfast dishes, from sweet treats to veggie fry-ups.
