Four Irish pubs have been named among the top 100 best in Europe.
The European Bar Guide revealed their list of Europe’s top 100 pubs, sharing with locals and tourists alike the best spots for a drink.
The guide ranks establishments on five categories: the quality and choice of drinks, style and décor, character, atmosphere and local life, amenities and events on offer and value for money.
A shout for the Kingdom, traditional pub and restaurant, Tig Bhric located on the Dingle Peninsula came in at number 28 on the list.
The beloved family-owned pub established in the 1890’s was described by the guide as ‘a small West Kerry brewery with cask beer in a wonderfully cosy pub with views of the peninsula.’
Making number 24 on the list is one of Dublin’s most popular pubs, Grogan’s.
Nestled away on South William Street, for over 100 years Grogan’s has been a top choice for locals and tourists alike.
Breaking the top 20 best bars in Europe is Dingle’s Dick Mack’s.
Hitting spot 17 on the list, the former bar and leather shop is renowned for its perfect pint of Guinness and trad sessions.
Named the 14th best pub in Europe and ranking the highest amongst Irish pubs on the list is John Kavanagh’s ‘The Gravediggers’ in Dublin.
Founded in 1833, the Dublin 9 pub has been widely labelled the city’s best pint of Guinness.
The European Bar Guide rated the establishment 9.6 out of 10, saying ‘spending time here is like stepping into a painting, the wash of colour and calm on a quiet afternoon as beguiling as its buzzy evening rhythm.
“Adored by the locals who know they live near one of the best pubs in Europe. Known, rightly so, for pouring a superb pint,” they added.
