Survey Finds That The Supermarket Is One Scary Place For Modern Mums

New research discovers just what makes mum want to scream!

A new survey has revealed that shopping with children and long car journeys with kids in the backseat are among the greatest stress triggers for modern mums.

The research found that the supermarket is a horrible place for mums who find embarrassing supermarket tantrums and constant chirps of ‘Can I have this?’ extremely stressful.

Dinnertime leaves mums pulling their hair out and the dreaded cross-country trip with the children in the backseat makes many parents want to scream.

Dressing an infant and entertaining the brood on a rainy morning cause the average mum to feel stressed at least three times a day.

Shockingly, 20 per cent of mums admit to feeling stress every single minute throughout the day and 40 per cent stated that weekday mornings are the most stressful times of the week.

A spokesman for Ford Retail, who commissioned the research to mark the launch of the new family-orientated Ford B-Max, commented on the findings:

”Being a parent can be testing at the best of times, but it seems there are certain situations which are worse than others.

”Travelling with young children is clearly a key stress factor revealed by the research – whether mums are struggling to get young children in and out of car seats, entertaining them on long journeys or dealing with traffic jams, the issues are apparent.

”Car journeys certainly feature highly in the top ten stress triggers and in many cases, being prepared is the key – making sure you have plenty of snacks, toys and games planned can help to keep even the longest shopping trip or car journey stress-free.”

Despite the findings, the research found that 41 per cent of mothers are motivated by stress while a 82 per cent of parents say the smiles and cuddles they get from their children make the stressful moments worth it in the end.
