Who knew that watching television shows as a kid could end up saving a life? Well it can, that is if this latest heart-warming story is anything to go by.
Apparently, a six year old boy saved his mother’s life because of a line he remembered from the Fireman Sam song.
Cartoon character Fireman Sam says “dial 999” in his song.
Liam Robinson called 999 for an ambulance when his pregnant mother, Rebecca Forsyth, collapsed at home according to The Mirror.
She explained: “He climbed on the bookshelf to reach the phone and rang the ambulance… He was amazing, we are just so proud of him.”
Rebecca added that Liam knew how to ring the number because of the Fireman Sam song and that when she came to, he was standing at the front door waiting for the ambulance.
The brave little boy will now be given an award from the North East Ambulance Service for his potentially life-saving actions.
Just goes to show that spending hours in front of the television screen as a kid can come in handy!
