Santa is Expecting a Costly Christmas Eve Run as Touchscreen Devices Top Children’s Wish Lists

It’s already October, and though we may shudder at the thought of Christmas, it really is just around the corner.

The man in the North Pole is already anticipating a mountain of letters from children all over Ireland, requesting expensive electronics to be quietly left underneath the tree in exchange for a few cookies and very good behaviour.

The Irish Independent predicts that this year, electronic, touchscreen devices will top children’s wish lists.

Christmas 2011 was all about Sesame Street’s Let’s Rock Elmo and Dance Star Mickey, but the annual Late Late Toy Show is expected to focus heavily on multifunctional touchscreen gadgets such as the InnoTab 2, a handheld device which allows children to read books electronically and provides them with educational games.

Meanwhile, Santa’s helpers are hard at work banging out other devices such as Meep! Kurio and Nabi , a tablet for children costing €149.99. The device allows kids to play games, download apps, e-books and music.
