An internet troll who harassed a family by posing as their missing daughter has been sentenced to 14 weeks in prison after breaking a restraining order.
Donna Wright from Durham was sentenced to prison after breaking a restraining order to telephone Richard Lee. Wright had been found impersonating Lee’s daughter Katrice, who was abducted close to a British Army base in Germany over 30 years ago.
Wright was also convicted of harassing Katrice’s mother Sharon and sister Natasha.
It is believed that Wright turned aggressive after a DNA test proved she was not the missing girl in question, and she began sending spiteful messages over Facebook to the Lee family. She admitted to harassment after phone records were produced to the court.
Speaking outside the court following the sentencing, Mr. Lee said his family were already serving a life sentence following the unexplained disappearance of their daughter:
“The only justice I have got out of it is I will sleep easy in the coming weeks as I won’t have to worry that she will ring me. If I had one question for Ms Wright it would be ‘what has my family ever done to you?’
But I don’t wish to ask that or any other question as I do not want this woman to have any such dialogue with me or my family or anyone else who is trying to find Katrice.”
