For most women, it’s a private moment in a bathroom, where you wait anxiously to see if there’s one line or two.

But the latest craze in the maternity circuit makes your baby shower the second outing of your bump-to-be. According to BabyCenter.com message boards, there’s a new thread that’s gathering real online support – The Soooo … you want to have a pee party?

Women are throwing caution to the first trimester rule, and are now hosting ‘pee parties’ where they pee on the stick and wait with a party of family and friends for the results to appear.

Speaking to Metro, Rebecca Michals, director of global community and customer service at BabyCenter.com, which first spotted the trend said:

“They will discuss what day they are going to test and sometimes they’ll host ‘online’ gatherings”.

Michals said the group also offer support to women for the two-week wait between ovulation and a period date, especially to those who are actively trying but are not telling family members of their conception problems.

The message boards boast a 50-strong collective called the The April 2014 Pee Party group, and also hosts advice and column discussions around ovulation dates, expected date of each woman’s period and results from their pee party tests.

Well it’s definitely an original approach to breaking the news…
