The holiday season can be a busy time and it can seem like you’re endlessly trekking parties and get-togethers.
Although many new moms are itching to get out and socialise new research has shown that leaving the baby at Christmas time is difficult for many women.
Nearly a quarter of mothers feel guilty about leaving the baby at home during Christmas and 11 per cent of mums missed their baby so much while they were out it brought them to tears.
The study, which was conducted by Cussons Mum & Me, revealed that 88 per cent of mothers check up on the babysitter using their mobile up to five times a night and even use apps including FaceTime to wish their tot goodnight.
Many new mums are anxious about leaving their baby to go to Christmas events
A quarter of women revealed that ‘nobody’ could look after their baby quite like themselves.
A Spokesperson for Cussons Mum & Me said: “Leaving baby at home for the first time is often a very daunting prospect for new mums, it’s in a mother’s very nature to want to stay and protect their baby, but it is important to have a little ‘me’ time every now and again.
“After getting past the hurdle of the first day or night out without your baby, it does get easier but there’s no pressure to rush the process, it’s different for every individual and it is essential to be comfortable to feel truly relaxed.”
