Our days are so busy with work and school that it can be difficult to find time to spend together as a family.
Brother and sister Flik and Flak are definitely up for some family fun this weekend with www.flikflak.com
The weekend is the time to invest in your family and to have some fun with one another before we’re back to our hectic Monday schedule.
We’ve previously suggested ice-skating and a nice family trek as some fun activities, but this weekend we’re embracing the festive spirit and going for something magical. Santa’s in town, and he’s in one of our favourite places in the country…
A trip to the zoo is magical for every member of the family at any time of the year, while getting to see Santa is the one of the biggest highlights of a young child’s year. Put the two together, and we figure you’re really on to a winner.
Those are some funny looking reindeer…
Every weekend in December and every day from Thursday 20th – Monday 24th December, your little ones can experience the magic of Christmas as they wander through a traditional and enchanting Santa’s grotto at Dublin Zoo. Young visitors receive a gift and photo from the man in red to keep as a special memento of their time with Santa. Christmas arts and crafts and face-painting are on offer two, and of course when your time with old Nick is over there’s still all the other wonders of the zoo to enjoy, including this year’s new arrivals; bull elephant Upali, Sita and Suri the Asian lionesses, red panda cubs, meerkat pups and many more.
The grotto is open from 10am to 4pm each of the days mentioned above, last entry is at 3.30 pm. It costs €10 per child (€8 for annual pass holders), and no pre-booking is necessary.
