American dad Dan Urbano obviously does not understand the internet’s love affair with cat stories, kitty videos and purring pictures and made a huge mistake when he made a little wager with his young kids regarding a new pet.
After snapping a photograph of his little ones, Remi and Evelyn, he promised the kids a new cat if the snap received over 1,000 likes on Facebook.

The children uploaded the picture on their mom’s Facebook account and it was quickly liked and shared by thousands of people.
To date the photograph has been liked 117,000 times.
Speaking to Good Morning America, the children’s mother Marissa said: “We figured our friends and maybe their friends would be nice and kind and share with each other,” she said.
The children have since welcomed Hairetta into their home
“Never, ever did we think this was going to happen.”
A bet is a bet and after losing fair and square Daddy rushed out to bring home a new feline friend for the kids.
Hairietta L. Pawturr (the L is for ‘Likes’) is now settling into Urbano family life.
