‘You’re exactly what I’ve been looking for’ – Islanders profess their love as series comes to a close

Love Island final

The Love Island finalists of 2023 will share their declarations of love in tonight’s final episode of the series.

The final four couples will attend the Love Island ball where they will profess their love and reflect on their experiences together over the last number of weeks.

Receiving one of the last texts in the villa for this summer, Tyrique reads: Islanders, tonight you will attend the Love Island ball but before that boys it’s time to spruce up please get ready to leave the Villa. #LookingSharp #FreshFaced.”

After heading out of the villa to get suited and booted, Tyrique, who just made things official with OG Ella during their final date, is asked by Lochan if he is feeling nervous about the declaration of love and expressing his feelings for Ella, referring to Tyrique’s initial resistance to falling in love at the beginning of the series.

“I am a little bit nervous but I feel like I’ve got a lot of things I want to say”, Tyrique replies, adding that he just wants to “deliver it in the right way.”

Back at the villa, the girls enjoy a spa day in anticipation of the ball in the villa’s garden.

Jess, wanting to get an idea of her fellow Islanders speeches, asked what they plan to say in their declarations to their other halves.

Keeping tight-lipped, Whitney refuses to give anything away saying: “You’ll find out when I say it!”

The big reveal takes place later in the evening showing each girl meeting their boy on the villa’s main grounds and a big cheers by Zach to the Love Island experience and the fact they all found love.

The first of the declarations will see Ty and Ella meet under the archway to announce their love for each other.

“From the boy I met on day one to the man you are today, I’ve seen you change and grow so much – just for me,” Ella beams.

Tyrique has had one the the biggest growth and character developments ever seen on the reality series, entering the villa having never been in love and ending his time in the villa by telling first girlfriend, You’ve shown me it’s cool to open up about my emotions…. And being in love is the best feeling ever.”

After much of the summer experiencing trials and tribulations as a couple, Jess and Sammy are next to express their feelings in the garden of the villa.

Acknowledging their rocky journey, Sammy tells Jess, “..When I saw you walking towards the fire pit on your own after Casa, I instantly knew that you were all that I wanted – my wandering eye turned into my eye for Jess.”

He closes this declaration of love with another big statement, hoping he will be met with a positive reaction from the aesthetics practitioner from London.

Zach, who found himself in hot water at the first ever Grafties over his history with Kady McDermott, will finish his speech to Molly with a question, but first telling her,  “I’m now at a point where I find myself daydreaming about the things and adventures I want to do with you – spoiling you, protecting you and loving you.”

Molly made a shock return to Casa Amor this summer after being dumped by Kady in a shock recoupling. She was brought back to deal with her unfinished business with Zach following her departure, and has since been by his side all the way to this evening’s final.

She reminds him tonight, “We are a team Zach, and please don’t ever forget I love you.”

Lastly, and certainly not least, is Whitney and Lochan whose connection formed in Casa Amor and has since gone from strength to strength.

Labelling him her perfect match, she tells him, “You’re exactly what I’ve been looking for.”

As the series comes to a close, the Islanders soak up the remainder of their time before the live final tonight where the Love Island winners will be revealed at 9pm on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.
