While we still have a few months to go, this trailer should whet your appetite for the new Bridget Jones movie.
Reneé Zellweger is back as the much-loved Bridget Jones and this time she brings a whole host of new dilemmas with her. We got to see the first trailer three months ago where we were introduced to Bridget’s new flame Jack, who’s played by Patrick Dempsey, a.k.a Doctor McDreamy.
Along with Jack, the third installment of the movie franchise sees the return of Mark Darcy, who we know all too well from the first two movies. When we last left them, Mark and Bridget were happily engaged and now we return to a single Bridget, having ended the relationship five years earlier.
Fortysomething and single again, she decides to focus on her job as a top news producer and surround herself with old friends and new. While on the look-out for a new love interest she meets Patrick and just when she begins to fall for him she rekindles her relationship with Mark.
Bridget’s heart is torn between the two guys and to add confusion to an already confusing situation, she falls pregnant and isn’t sure which one is the father.
This new trailer goes through the developing relationships Bridget has with the two men and how tangled the situation gets.
The movie is out on September 16th, 2016.
Renée recently opened up about criticism the character received for her weight. Speaking to Vogue, she spoke of how harsh fans can be towards women’s bodies:
“I put on a few pounds. I also put on some breasts and a baby bump.
“Bridget is a perfectly normal weight and I’ve never understood why it matters so much.
“No male actor would get such scrutiny if he did the same thing for a role.”
