The X Factor has often been criticised by fans who suggest that it’s all fixed to ensure viewers tune in and the winner they have pre-chosen makes it to the end. However, new claims suggest that the producers' control starts much earlier. According to the Daily Star, a show insider has revealed that two-thirds of the contestants who make it to judges’ houses this year were pre-selected by producers on the show.

Reports say that once the audition process is finished, the show’s scouts spend their days searching through YouTube and attending open-mic nights in the hopes of finding more talent to join the show.
