My face is exactly like his in Elf with this news.
Yes, get ready because Will Ferrell is making another Christmas movie, and from the last one he starred it, it’s bound to be incredible.
19 years after the iconic Elf was released (I know, I can’t believe it either), Will is set to star in a new holiday flick but this time, he’s joining forces with Ryan Reynolds. A match made in Christmassy heaven.
The film is set to be released on November 11 in cinemas and on Apple TV+ in the states on 18 November.
Will will take on the role of the Ghost of Christmas Present the film is a musical adaption of the classic Charles Dickens novel, A Christmas Carol.
But this time around, it will be told from the ghosts’ perspective and not Scrooge.
Describing it as “a modern musical rendition of Charles Dickens’s classic holiday story A Christmas Carol,” Apple says: “Each Christmas Eve, the Ghost of Christmas Present (Will Ferrell) selects one dark soul to be reformed by a visit from three spirits.
“But this season, he picked the wrong Scrooge. Clint Briggs (Ryan Reynolds) turns the tables on his ghostly host until Present finds himself reexamining his own past, present and future.
“For the first time, A Christmas Carol is told from the perspective of the ghosts in this hilarious musical twist on the classic Dickens tale.”
Ryan is set to play Scrooge, or Clint Briggs, with Octavia Spencer, Patrick Page, Sunita Mani, Joe Tippet and P J Byrne also all starring.
The festive movie Spirited is directed and written by Sean Anders and John Morris, with songs by Oscar winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the guys who wrote La La Land, The Greatest Showman and Dear Evan Hansen.
