Here’s what you should watch on TV on Christmas Eve

Lots to choose from.

Laura Holland

For most of us, the first half of Christmas Eve is usually spent running around town for last minute presents. After that is the pay-off, time to relax and get in the festive spirit.

In the evening, if you’re not down at your local, or at mass, then you’re probably going to be catching up on some quality TV.

Crack open that tin of roses, munch on a mince pie or have a glass of mulled wine.

Here are some of the best shows and movies on offer on Christmas Eve.

Santa Claus – 11:50am 3e

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – 1:30pm ITV

Home Alone – RTÉ One 3.55pm

Pitch Perfect – 6:20pm RTÉ 2

Michael McIntyre’s Big Christmas Show – BBC One 7:25pm

Michael McIntyre will be joined by a host of celebrities for a night of music, fun and games.

Gogglesprogs Christmas Special – Channel 4 8pm

Christmas with Daniel – RTÉ One 9:30pm

Bridget & Eamon Christmas Special  – RTÉ 2 10:05pm

Bad Neighbours – RTÉ 2 10:35pm

This 2014 comedy is based around a happy couple who move into their dream home only to realise it’s right beside a fraternity house. Starring Seth Rogan, Zack Efron and Rose Byrne.
