As the summer draws to a close it means a few things – schools are back, evenings will begin to get darker and The Late Late Show returns every Friday night.
This Friday marks the first in the new season and judging by the first guest confirmed, they’re getting off to a great start.
Boxer and Olympic athlete Michael Conlon will be on the show this Friday. As we’ll all remember Michael was robbed of a medal at this year’s Olympics after the judges declared that his opponent, Russia’s Vladimir Nikitin, the winner in the quarter-final of the men’s bantamweight 56kg.
After his defeat, Michael gave a passionate speech in an interview with RTÉ saying:
“They are cheating b**tards and I don’t give a f**k cursing on TV…Amateur boxing stinks from the core to the top…I thought I boxed the head off him in the first round…but when I heard I was down I had to go to his fight…They are all corrupt…”
And now he will grace The Late Late Show set and talk to Ryan about life since the Olympics and his plans to turn pro in the future.
