A weather presenter refused a kiss from her colleague and things got awkward

Yikes!

Laura Holland

Well, this is awkward.

A weather presenter in Australia, Rebecca Judd, was doing her last broadcast before she took her maternity leave and her fellow presenters were giving her a lovely send off.

Both Tony Jones and Peter Hitchener wished her well live on TV before she left to give birth to twins. While it began quite sweet as they said their farewells, Tony leaned in for a kiss and things got very awkward. He was giving her a kiss goodbye and after he went to plant one on her cheek she yelped and pulled away.

All poor Tony could say afterward was, “Ok, good, this is going well,” while Rebecca giggled awkwardly.

It all made for some pretty awkward viewing and, as a result, the clip has gone viral.

It’s not the first time they’ve had an awkward moment like this on TV. One other time Rebecca was presenting the weather and ended by saying that it was going to nice and sunny for the weekend. Tony automatically responded, “You should come around for a barbie,” to which Rebecca replied, “No thanks” and burst out laughing.

Poor old Tony can’t catch a break.
