Counting down the days.
Netflix’s newest dating series The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On is heading our way, and from the look of the new trailer, it’s intense.
The eight part series comes from Kinetic Content, the same company that brought us Love is Blind, and it’s even being hosted by none other than the same presenters, Nick and Vanessa Lachey.
Dropping on April 6th, the series will follow six different couples over the span of eight weeks, but all of them are already on the verge of getting married.
The catch? One partner is ready for marriage, while the other isn’t and that’s where the ultimatum comes in, do they stick it out or move on completely?
Giving them three weeks, each person goes through trial marriages with others in the same boat. Between living together and seeing what it would really be like, they figure out if this person is right for them.
They then move back in with their own partner for the following three weeks and are asked to make a decision, to either stay engaged and follow through with the wedding, leave with the new partner or go home single.
Netflix’s official synopsis of the show reads: “Six different couples, on the verge of marriage. One partner is ready to get married, the other isn’t quite as sure.
“An ultimatum is issued — and in just over eight weeks, they must commit to marriage, or move on. In the meantime, each will choose a new potential partner from one of the other couples, in a life-changing opportunity to get a glimpse of two different possible futures.”
The eight episodes will be available to stream from April 6th and a season finale and reunion episode will air on April 13th.
The trailer shows each contestant getting overly emotional as they try to figure out what direction they should go in, but leaves a lot to be imagined.
The series has also already been renewed for a second season, and is set to be an all-queer season.
