WATCH: The trailer for ‘The Girl on the Train’ has given us chills

The trailer for American mystery thriller ‘The Girl on the Train’ has been released. The film adaptation, based on the 2015 best-selling book of the same name, stars Emily Blunt, Justin Theroux, Rebecca Ferguson and Allison Janney. The trailer, soundtracked by a Kanye West's 'Heartless', shows a struggling Rachel (Blunt) trying to piece together a murder in her area while seemingly being classed as a suspect by a police investigator (Janney). 'The Girl on the Train' the 2015 psychological thriller book by Paula Hawkins has been classed by many as "the next Gone Girl". Going from this rollercoaster of a trailer, it promises to have us sitting on the edge of our seats. Fans reacted on Twitter to the fast-paced, scary trailer and the excitement is rising fast:

Unfortunately, 'The Girl on the Train' does not arrive in Irish cinemas until October 7th. AKA ages away! Plenty of time to read the book then.
