Fangirls at the ready?! There’s just over a month to go until one of the most highly anticipated fantasy movies of the year hits our screens.
Crowds gathered across the globe at movie theatres including Los Angeles, New York, London, Madrid, Mexico City, Brussels and Sydney, to get a sneak peek of the upcoming feature and they weren’t left disappointed.
The three minute sneak peek offers more to the fans than the official trailers with more dialogue and a rather amazing line from Benedict Cumberbatch as Smaug. Take a look:
Director Peter Jackson was joined at the LA event with actress Evangeline Lilly who plays the newly created character of Tauriel with Gollum actor Andy Serkis and Lee Pace attending the London showing.
Singer Ed Sheeran has also revealed that he has a song, “I See Fire,” in the upcoming movie that will be played during the end credits.
“I got the chance to produce and play all the instruments on it apart from the cello. Managed to learn violin for a day, hope you all dig it” he wrote to fans on Twitter.
“Big up Peter Jackson and his team for giving me the opportunity,” he continued. “It’s also the first solo song I’ve released in over 2 years, it’s not on the new album though, that fun starts next year.”
The second installment of Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy will arrive at cinemas on December 13th.
