WATCH: Bing Crosby’s daughter on what it was like growing up with the king of Christmas

Because we're always dreaming of a White Christmas...

No matter whether you love Mariah or Wham (and we adore both), there's no doubting that Bing Crosby is the voice of Christmas. A recording and movie star, the crooner cornered the market for festive hits, with songs including Silver Bells and Do You Hear What I Hear?. He is best known and loved, however, for the ultimate YuleTide classic, White Christmas. Believe it or not, this classic hit still holds the title of biggest selling single of all time, forget your Beyoncés and Biebers, turns out the world just loves a good classic Christmas song – who would have thought? Mary Crosby, better known as Bing Crosby's daughter, was in Dublin recently, and Her caught up with her to chat about growing up with Father Christmas and her dad's Irish connections, as well as his new album which had her and her mom in tears when they first heard it. Mary describes Christmas with her dad as "pretty fantastic". Although Bing was a Hollywood legend, his life wasn't just Hollywood parties and glam dinners, he was more about the "family unit", especially when it came to a Bing Christmas. In fact their Christmas Day will sound quite familiar to a lot of Irish families, Mary tells us they "went to Mass in the morning, my mom made breakfast and we opened presents and it wasn't excessive, they didn't believe in spoiling us." The 60 year-old was in Europe to celebrate the launch of her dad's latest album, Bing at Christmas, a musical collaboration with the London symphony orchestra.

"My mom and I, we heard it together for the first time and she got all teary and I got all teary, it was really sweet," Mary says of the latest album, "his voice is crystal and sparkling and I get to hear him in a new way and other people do too."

As for her opinion on Christmas songs nowadays in comparison to her dad's classic hits, she says: "They're fine. Im biased, I mean Bing is my dad." Check out the full interview below.
