The second episode of Curated with Cassie is live and this week I decided to put together a Valentine's special filled with flowers for the romantics, perfume for the lovers, and axe throwing for those who want to do something completely random with mates.
Who said I wasn't romantic?

I am feeling particularly amorous this week so what better way to celebrate LOVE than visiting a stunning flower shop! The Crate in Dublin has taken Ireland by storm with its old school packaging and one of a kind flower arrangements. I also wanted to smell the part, so I headed off to Kilkenny for a little workshop on the power of perfume making. With my love tank completely full, I decided to round off the episode by letting out a little aggression, I achieved this by gathering a group of mates to hurl axes at a wall of logs (insert relevant ex/axe pun here).
The two ladies behind The Crate are Stephanie Hutch and Claire Ryan. Having grown up together and both working in the cut-throat world of fashion, they ultimately decided to turn their passion into a business and through their love of flowers... The Crate was born.
During my quick visit they taught me how to build the perfect bunch of flowers in three basic steps (easy!) and we also went through the meaning behind certain flowers, so it was a full on floral education.
Now, if this is getting too lovey dovey for you, have no fear! In this episode, I also travelled to an axe throwing club in Dublin to unleash my own brand of fury at a wall of logs. Did you know that axe throwing is a fully-fledged sport? Neither did I! It takes skill, bravery and a very masterful coach, which I found in the form of Matthew Levell, at Axe Club Dublin.
Here's a behind the scenes look at my buddy, James Kavanagh, terrifying us all:
Aside from the initial fear of failure, axe throwing is severe craic and they host pizza parties as well as corporate events, axes and pizzas? What could LITERALLY go wrong?
Being a tad sweaty after all the axe throwing, I felt I needed to round things off with a squirt of perfume but not just any perfume; I wanted my own personal scent.
Heading to Kilkenny, I spoke with Andriana Tsankova, the owner of Valley of Roses. The store is an absolute delight to the senses, the second you walk in you're overwhelmed by more notes (using the lingo) than I can spell. The perfume workshop itself is where yo create your own signature scent. They host events, run perfume classes and you can even have your hen party there! Much to my surprise, a lot more goes in to deciphering your perfect scent than it seems, my horoscope even came in to play.
This episode honestly has everything! Happy V day folks.
