EastEnders versus Coronation Street is the biggest rivalry in soapland but at the National Television Awards last night, they banded together to pay tribute Anne Kirkbride.
When the cast of EastEnders took to the stage to accept the award for Best Serial Drama, Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale) dedicated their win to the actress who passed away on Monday.

The touching speech got a standing ovation from the Corrie cast who undoubtedly had an emotional evening.
Earlier during the ceremony William Roache, who plays Anne’s onscreen husband Ken Barlow, took to the stage to honour his co-star.
He said: “We’ve been deeply touched by the outpouring of love for Anne… we share your grief and sadness over losing such a beautiful person who will be so greatly missed by us all. I love you Anne. Thank you.”
