In for the night? Exhausted your list on Netflix? Really don’t want to watch The Ray D’Arcy Show?
We hear you. Saturday nights in can be a drag but there’s one film on that you won’t regret setting aside time for.
Have you seen The Sum of All Fears?
Starring Morgan Freeman, Ben Affleck, James Cromwell, Liev Schreiber, Bridget Moynahan and Alan Bates, this 2002 film is a classic spy thriller that pits the US against some shifty Russians – though there’s more to it than that.
Jack Ryan (Ben Affleck), a young CIA hire, is summoned to join the organisation’s director (Morgan Freeman) on a trip to Moscow.
While inspecting a Russian nuclear weapons facility, Ryan notices that something is amiss.
With neo-Nazis and what I’m reliably informed by a movie buff colleague is “one surprisingly brilliant scene,” you could so worse than checking it out. It’s on Sky One at 9pm.
Not into that?
You could watch Britain’s Got Talent on TV3 at 8pm instead. The auditions continue as judges Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden David Walliams and Simon Cowell search for a star while hosts Ant and Dec look on from the wings.
And if you’re not totally averse to watching Ray D’Arcy, tonight’s episode could be a good watch.
He’s set to interview Limerick mother Vicky Phelan, who was given false negative results after a cervical cancer screening in 2011 and subsequently developed terminal cancer. The show is on RTÉ 1 at 10.05pm.
