Tom Hiddleston is set to star in the Netflix political thriller White Stork.

Deadline report that the actor will play James Cooper, a politician running for a seat in the UK parliament. However, things start to unravel when a woman tasked with vetting him finds possibly damaging secrets buried in his past.

According to the series’ official description the secrets “will threaten to blow everything apart — his career, his marriage, even the powerful people backing his campaign.”

The limited-series has already been given a 10-episode series order. Christopher Dunlop will serve as writer, creator and executive producer. Kristoffer Nyholm will direct the series.

The thriller is from Eleven, the same production company behind the major Netflix hit Sex Education.

The actor, who won a Golden Globe for his role in The Night Manager – is also set to reprise his role as the Marvel cinematic universe’s devious trickster Loki in the Disney+ series of the same name.

The show is said to be taking place after what happened in Avengers: Endgame, and is set to debut next year.
