Tom Hiddleston has finally revealed why he was wearing THAT Taylor Swift t-shirt

So now we know.

Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift's relationship will always remain a mystery to us. Was it all real? We may never know for sure. In a recent interview, Tom has clarified some things about the relationship, including why on earth he wore an "I heart TS" t-shirt last summer. Taylor and Tom were barely official back then when he appeared out in the statement t-shirt puzzling everyone. He hasn't ever really explained why he wore it until now. He spoke with GQ Magazine where he said that the t-shirt drama was out of context. He told them that he had hurt his back that day and to protect the wound from the sun he asked one of Taylor's friends for a spare t-shirt. As a joke they handed over the I heart TS shirt and he put it on for the laugh. He added:

"The narratives that are out there altogether have been extrapolated from pictures that were taken without consent or permission, with no context.

Nobody had the context for that story. And I’m still trying to work out a way of having a personal life and protecting it, but also without hiding.

So the hardest thing is that that was a joke among friends on the Fourth of July… I just, I was surprised.

I was just surprised that it got so much attention. The tank top became an emblem of this thing."

Speaking about his relationship with Taylor he said, "I only know the woman I met. She’s incredible. A relationship in the limelight… A relationship always takes work. A relationship in the limelight takes work. And it’s not just the limelight. It’s everything else."
