There’s a new reality dating show coming from the creators of Love Island

And it'll be on every night.

Anna O'Rourke

Sure what else would you be at of a weeknight?

It’s a while away yet but we’re already dreading the end of Love Island.

The show fills our evenings, fuels our conversations at work and makes up at least thirty per cent of what we’re thinking at any given time so it’ll leave a pretty big gap in our lives when it’s gone.

Happily, ITV has something else up its sleeve that promises to fill that void.

The station is working on Singletown, in which couples will spend a summer apart to see if they’re really meant to be together.

As Glamour reports, “some of them are childhood sweethearts who’ve never been with anyone else, some of them are doubting their commitment and some of them just want one last summer fling before they settle down.”

Unreal.

They’ll all live in luxury apartments in London and go on dates with people handpicked for them.

At the end of the summer, each singleton will decide whether they want to get back into their relationship or break up for good.

Just like Love Island, it’ll be on every night bar Saturdays (yay!), but will feature couples of different body types and sexualities rather than, eh, just skinny and muscly people.

“Singletown is a fun relationship show featuring a diverse mix of young couples from all over the UK brought together in the most aspirational urban setting – London in the summer,” Paul Mortimer, Head of Digital Channels at ITV, told Cosmo.

“ITV2’s young audience will hopefully be hooked on the dating dilemmas, twists and turns and the fresh and re-kindled romances that emerge from this exciting new format.”
