It will be missed...

The much-loved reality singing competition has been put to bed.

Following a number of reports suggesting that The Voice Of Ireland would finish up after the last series, it’s been confirmed the show will not return.

There were claims that the show would be axed to make way for Ireland’s Got Talent, which will be fronted by none other than Louis Walsh.

However, according to RTÉ, the Voice of Ireland is going to be replaced with Dancing with the Stars, a dance show much like BBC 1‘s Strictly Come Dancing.

Presenter of The Voice of Ireland Kathryn Thomas expressed disappointment about the change but admitted that “it’s been an incredible journey over the past five years”.

The new Dancing with the Stars show which will be shown on RTÉ1 has featured celebrities in the past such as Nicole Sherzinger, Donny Osmond and Jennifer Grey so we’re sure we won’t be short of entertainment.

People took to Twitter to mourn the loss of The Voice of Ireland which delighted many fans since 2012.
