A Christmas Prince was the holiday movie that we never knew we needed.
The cheery Netflix original – which was originally released last year – had all of the ingredients for a must-watch romantic comedy: witty comebacks, home decor #goals, a few exclamations of ‘you lied to me!’ and at least one good kiss.
The original film told the story of Amber, an American journalist who gets the chance of a lifetime when she is sent to a European country to cover a story on the tabloid-magnet prince.
Naturally, things don’t go as planned – do they ever in these kind of movies? – and Amber ends up being mistaken for the tutor who was hired to teach the Princess.
With her unprecedented access to the palace, Amber decides to keep going along with the mistaken identity so that she can get the gossip for her article.
Of course, she ends up falling for the prince who is about to be crowned king, which leaves her wondering how to best come clean about her identity.
Netflix viewers couldn’t get enough of the festive flick – and, if we’re being totally honest, neither could we.
It picks up a year after Amber helped Richard become king, with the two soon set to tie the knot in a royal Christmas wedding.
However, their plans are jeopardized when Amber finds herself second-guessing whether or not she’s cut out to be queen, and Richard is faced with a political crisis that threatens to tarnish not only the holiday season, but the future of the kingdom.
Viewers are already loving the return to Aldovia – and we know just what we’re going to be watching this weekend.
