Phew!
When we heard that a new version of Jumanji was in the pipeline it had us worried. With The Rock at the heart of the new movie, we wondered if they would be doing a remake of the classic movie, which starred Robin Williams and a young Kristen Dunst, and potentially ruin any fond memories we had of it.
Thankfully, The Rock has just confirmed that it will not be a remake but more of a continuation.
After finishing up on set of the next Fast and Furious movie he posted an image to Instagram with a lengthy caption about how thankful he was to the entire staff. Along with that spiel he also clarified the Jumanji concept saying:
“And now in two weeks I’ll reunite with ol’ friends Kevin Hart & Jack Black and we have the honor to introduce a whole new generation to the amazing world of #JUMANJI.
*(for the record we are NOT making a reboot, but rather a continuation of the awesome JUMANJI story). It’s also crazy to me how much me, Kev and Jack look like triplets when we’re together. Man this is gonna be FUN. “
Back in the day, Jumanji was one of the best movies. It centred around a board game which came to life as soon as you began to play it.
No doubt the new version will be just as good especially with The Rock, Kevin Hart and Jack Black involved… fingers crossed anyway.
